DESCRIPTION:JOHN BEATTY THE ORIGINAL “STRONG MAN”!\nJohn has performed hundreds of shows all over the US and Canada!\n\nHe was seen by over 11\,000\,000 people on the 2010 season of America’s Got Talent (Season 5). He’s the only strong man performer to make the live finals in Hollywood!\n\nJohn’s journey in the world of strength began as a 7th grader. From a small town (Longview\, IL)\, John wanted to be strong enough to garner a starting spot on his high school football team. His father was\, and is an avid lifter\, and taught John the proper form that helped him start training strength. After high school\, he became interested in strength ports and he began competing in powerlifting in 1991\, and eventually held state and nation records. He began the shift to strongman competitions in 1997\, where he turned pro in 1999. He was a pro strongman competitor for 10 years\, and broke the silver dollar deadlift world record in 2005 – raising it to 1105 lbs. Around 2000\, he began competing in grip strength competitions (which included being top 10 ranked steel bender in the world)\, and Scottish Highland Games competitions!\nStrength has been a big part of his life from childhood. Despite his travels\, he still works full time as a nurse in an operating room at a level one trauma center!
